The FCI AG 3 exam is a prestigious government job exam for candidates who want to work in the Food Corporation of India. As an Assistant Grade 3 officer, you get the chance to be part of an important organization that plays a key role in managing and distributing food across the country.

About FCI

The Food Corporation of India (FCI) is a government organization that looks after the country’s food supply. It was set up in 1965 under the Food Corporations Act of 1964. FCI mainly takes care of buying food grains like wheat and rice from farmers, storing them safely, and then distributing them across the country.

Its main goal is to make sure food is available to people at fair prices, keep market prices stable, and give farmers support through the Minimum Support Price (MSP). FCI is also a key part of the Public Distribution System (PDS), which helps provide food to the weaker and poorer sections of society.

The last FCI AG 3 notification came out on 30th August 2022. Since this exam is not held every year on a fixed schedule, the notification dates can change. For 2025, the official notification has not been released yet.

Expected Vacancies in FCI AG 3 2025 Notification  

In the 2019 recruitment, FCI announced 4103 vacancies, and in 2022, the number went up to 5043 vacancies. Going by this trend, candidates can expect the FCI AG 3 Recruitment 2025 to also have over 5000 vacancies across different disciplines.

FCI AG 3 Age Limit & Relaxation 2025

For the FCI AG 3 2025 exam, your age will be counted as of the 1st of the month in which the notification comes out (for example, in 2022 it was 1st August 2022).

  • You must be at least 18 years old to apply, no matter which post or category you belong to.
  • For the General, Technical, Depot, and Accounts posts, the maximum age limit for candidates from the unreserved/general category is 27 years.
  • For the FCI AG 3 (Hindi) post, the maximum age limit is 28 years.

Nationality Requirement for the FCI AG 3 2025

To be eligible for the FCI AG 3 2025 exam, you must either be an Indian citizen or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan.

As per the official FCI notification, the selection process for FCI AG 3 2025 (General, Depot, Accounts, and Technical posts) will take place in two stages:

  1. Phase 1
  2. Phase 2

The FCI AG 3 Phase 1 exam is conducted online and is only qualifying in nature, which means its marks will not be counted in the final merit list.

  • You can take the exam in either Hindi or English, except for the English Language section, which will be in English only.
  • There is negative marking: 0.25 marks (¼ mark) will be deducted for every wrong answer. So, it’s important to attempt the questions carefully.

FCI AG 3 Pattern for Phase 2 2025

In Phase 2 of the FCI AG 3 selection process, the exam is divided into Paper 1 and Paper 2.

  • If you are applying for General or Depot posts, you only need to appear for Paper 1.
  • If you are applying for Accounts or Technical posts, then you must attempt both Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Final Selection as FCI AG 3 Officer

  • For General and Depot posts in FCI AG 3, the final selection is decided only on the marks you score in Phase 2 – Paper 1.
  • For Accounts and Technical posts, the final selection is based on the combined marks of Paper 1 and Paper 2 in Phase 2.

FCI AG 3 2022 Exam Analysis

The overall difficulty level of the FCI AG 3 Exam 2022 was easy to moderate.

  • Reasoning:
    • The level was easy to moderate. Most questions came from puzzles such as month-based puzzles, uncertain number of people, and flat & floor-based puzzles. The pattern was quite similar to what was expected.
  • Numerical Aptitude:
    • This section was moderately difficult. Data Interpretation questions were asked in the form of Pie Charts, Tables, and Caselets. Arithmetic questions covered topics like Mixtures & Alligations, Profit & Loss, etc.
  • English Language:
    • The level was easy to moderate. The Reading Comprehension passage was based on “Water Scarcity”. Some new types of questions were also introduced in this section.
  • General Studies:
    • The level was easy to moderate. Questions were asked from a wide range of topics such as IPO, the 1st Train in India, Infant Mortality Rate (IMR), Rowlatt Satyagraha, and more.

FCI AG 3 2019 Exam Analysis

The overall difficulty level of the FCI AG 3 Exam 2023 was easy to moderate.

  • Reasoning:
    • This section was easy. The exam followed the typical bank exam pattern. Questions on seating arrangements and syllogisms were very simple.
  • Numerical Aptitude:
    • This section was also easy. About 50% of the questions were from Simplification, and the DI (Data Interpretation) question was graph-based and very easy to attempt.
  • English Language:
    • The level was easy to moderate but the section was lengthy. Like reasoning, this too followed the bank pattern. The most important topics were Reading Comprehension and Cloze Test.
  • General Studies:
    • The level was easy to moderate. Questions were asked from a mix of topics such as headquarters of GST, NIP, AFC, Mahila Samman Certificate, and more.
